Latin Name: Eucalyptus Radiata
Extraction: Steam distilled from the twigs and leaves.
Aroma: Camphorous with slightly-sweet and refreshing green aroma.
BOTANY
Native to Australia, Eucalyptus Radiata is derived from the ‘Narrow Leaf’ species that has a compact crown and dense canopy. It is one of the earliest steam-distilled oil commercially produced in the mid-1800s.
There are more than 700 different species of Eucalyptus trees. Purifying and cooling, the Aborigines of Australia have widely applied these leaves of Eucalyptus for their antiseptic and healing uses.

USES IN AROMATHERAPY
Mind/Emotional:
The emotional qualities of all Eucalyptus varieties are similar. This one is however preferred for meditation and use in energy work.
The invigorating yet more complex but pleasing aroma of Eucalyptus Radiata species taps into our inner strength and boost the feeling of self-confidence, steadfast and unfaltering faith.
When diffused, not only does the oil purifies the air, it calms our spirit and removes self-doubt, hesitation and negativity that hinders our mind.
Even though Eucalyptus is a stimulating and energizing oil, it is also as effective as Lavender in providing soothing and relaxing effect.
Body/Physical:
This Radiata variety of Eucalyptus is used much the same way as the Globulus variety.
However, it is reputed to be more gentle and less irritating to the skin. Hence, it is more appropriate for children and elderly; as decongestant (uses for respiratory ailments sch as cold/flu, asthma, cough, nasal congestion and so forth) and as immune support. As a febrifuge, it is a good choice for bringing down a fever too.
Eucalyptus is widely applied for wound care, insect bites, blisters, rashes and in deodorizing products.
Like Globulus variety, it can also be used as muscles rub or headache blend due to its natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
SAFETY & SHELF LIFE
Safety: Do not apply to or near face (nostrils or eye membranes) of infant and children under 10 years (even though it is considered gentler specifies for children and elderly). Nevertheless, it is recommended to use with caution.
Dilute before using with a recommended dermal use level of 5% to 10%. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.
Pregnancy/Nursing: Pregnancy safe but avoid using during nursing due to risk of exposure to infant.
Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult physician. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use internally unless instructed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician.
Shelf Life: 2-3 Years
HOW TO USE
Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil/aroma diffuser or personal pocket inhaler.
Apply Topically: This essential oil is 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high quality carrier oils or Carrier Oils Complex. Refer to our dilution chart. We recommend performing a skin patch test when using a new essential oil topically.
