Aroma: Sharp, fresh green, slightly floral and herbaceous aroma.
BOTANY
Native to Mediterranean and now widely cultivated throughout Europe and Middle East, Rosemary is an evergreen perennial shrub with leathery, needle-like green leaves and pale blue tubular flowers.
Rosemary has been dated back to Ancient Egyptions, Romans and Greeks who considered it as ‘sacred’. It was popularly used to purify the air and prevent sickness from spreading.

Rosemary is thought of as the ‘Herb of Memory’ today because when diffused, it can significantly improve memory, increase mental alertness and help with learning difficulties, memory loss, indecisiveness, loss of concentration and mental fatigue.
It can strengthen the solar plexus and enhance our inquisitive mind to organize thought process and gain insight. Psychologically, Rosemary can renew enthusiasm, boost creativity and impart self-confidence.
According to Gabriel Mojay, the oil is well suited for sluggish, cold and weary individuals who lacks self-worth and feel restricted and stuck in a state of doubts and over-thinking. Associated with the quality of vitality, Rosemary can add ‘fire’ and penetrate the mind for inspiration and courage to ask the right questions.

Rosemary essential oil is amazingly versatile and affinity for a host of physical and energy systems because its therapeutic influence impacts and resonates throughout our entire body system.
The 1,8-Cineole constituent of Rosemary makes it excellent for respiratory conditions of common cold, flu, catarrh, sinusitis, cough, asthma, bronchitis and sore throats. As it can tonifying the lungs and clear phlegm and expel wind to restrain infection, it is effective in breaking down mucus (clear or yellow catarrh) and open up airways in lungs to ease breathing.
The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of the oil also mean that it is beneficial for killing bacteria and viruses and assist with elimination of toxins from liver and kidneys. It represents an excellent tonic for liver and gall bladder (useful for treating gall bladder infections). Literature also mentioned Rosemary to be helpful for viral hepatitis.
Due to its ability to regulate Qi in Stomach and intestines, it is said to support digestion and bowel functions. In other words, the oil can be used to reduce flatulence, colitis, abdominal pain, constipation, intestinal infection and indigestion.
For elderly, Rosemary can be used in muscle rub for lower backache, stiff muscles, arthritis and rheumatism; or for massage for circulatory problems that cause cold feet, tiredness and weak legs. Generally, as a stimulant, it assists with chilliness, poor circulation, fainting, vertigo and many conditions of cold extremities.
In cardiovascular area, Rosemary can regulate blood sugar and is considered a heart tonic that help those with low blood pressure. Energetically a warm ‘Yang’ oil, it is a beneficial oil for exhaustion, general debility, overindulgence in food or drink as well as for convalescent when recovering from illnesses.
Rosemary has an affinity for the skin and hair. It is widely used in herbal shampoo for dandruffs, hair loss and in skincare for tightening sagging skin. It also works to reduce cellulite due to its ability to cleanse the body to remove excess fluid, boost circulation and lymphatic drainage.
SAFETY & SHELF LIFE
Safety: Has GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) Status. However, do not apply to or near face (nostrils or eye membranes) of infant and children under 4 years. This oil is not recommended for nursing mothers, elderly, epileptics and those with high blood pressure. Dilute before using. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.
Pregnancy/Nursing: Pregnancy-safe and avoid use during nursing due to risk of exposure to infant.
Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult physician. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use internally unless instructed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician.

HOW TO USE
Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil/aroma diffuser or personal pocket inhaler.
Apply Topically: This essential oil is 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high quality carrier oils or Carrier Oils Complex. Refer to our dilution chart. We recommend performing a skin patch test when using a new essential oil topically.
