USES IN AROMATHERAPY
Mind/Emotional:
Turmeric is gently grounding. It helps to center scattered energies and boost inner sense of confidence and self-worth. It encourages one’s resolve to stop procrastination and take actions.
Consider this oil to soothe mental stress and to calm anger and many other fiery emotions.
This is an excellent oil for those with eating disorder or having a victim mentality.
Body/Physical:
We have read so much about Turmeric’s powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, particularly in pain-reducing applications.
Considered a warming oil, we find the oil to be effective in pain blends for joint aches, muscular aches, arthritis, rheumatism, head and neck tension, and any form of pain triggered by inflammation. The extract has high level of ketones and turmerones that impart anti-inflammatory, calming, analgesic and anti-spasmodic benefits.
It also supports the health of our gastrointestinal system, as it is known to improve our digestive system and even lower LDL cholesterol levels.
Another research cited Turmeric’s anti-fungal properties and demonstrated its effectiveness against the fungus responsible for causing athlete’s foot, nail fungal infection, jock itch and ringworm.
Valuable as an antiseptic, anti-irritant and antioxidant in Ayurvedic applications, the oil is often used to heal cuts, wounds and scrapes; as well as for protecting our defense system against free radicals. On skin, it can help reduce appearance of blemishes and protect it against environmental pollution.
