Extraction: Steam distilled from the buds.
Aroma: Rich, warm, deep sweet-spicy eugenolic aroma.
BOTANY
Clove is a native of Indonesia. They are the aromatic unopened flower buds of the evergreen plant which grows to around 10 meters tall. The buds are acquired from the tree by beating it. Cloves are commonly used as a spice.

USES IN AROMATHERAPY
Mind/Emotional:
Clove essential oil can stimulate the brain and mind. It makes you more energetic, attentive by alleviating mental and physical exhaustion.
The aroma is heart-warming. It protects against negative energy and fosters feeling of courage to move forward with enthusiasm and positive attitude.
Body/Physical:
The main chemical constituent in Clove essential oils is the phenols. They are highly powerful anti-infectious. It is excellent in the early stages of illnesses to kill viruses and bacteria. As a tonic, Clove’s stimulative properties are also helpful during the recovery phase, to rebuild energy and stamina.
A study in 2017 showed that it is an effective anti-fungal ingredient. Eugenol dominates majority of the phenolic component in Clove oil. Think dentist when you think eugenol because it is the component that makes you feel numb. Clove oil is indicated in remedy for toothaches.
Because of β-caryophyllene, this oil lends a warming appeal to massage blend to combat physical ailments related to coldness and dampness such as rheumatism, arthritis and so forth. It can also help to bring relief to muscular pain by improving circulation and relieving tension that may lead to headaches.
Clove oil also acts on digestive system for diarrhea, nausea, flatulence.
It can be used for skin afflictions such as skin itching, ringworm, scabies, warts and others. Traditionally, it is widely used to reduce skin sagging to prevent fine lines and wrinkles, making it a useful anti-aging ingredient.
By vaporizing the oil, with a citrus oil, Clove oil helps cleanse the air and environment. A study had shown that it did have antibacterial activity on bacteria that cause respiratory infections.
SAFETY & SHELF LIFE
Safety: Moderate risk of skin sensitization and mucous membrane irritation; with a maximum dermal use level of 0.5% recommended. Dilute before using. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.
Pregnancy/Nursing: Avoid using during pregnancy and nursing.
Precautions: Avoid use in cases of major surgery, blood clotting or other bleeding disorders.
Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult physician. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use internally unless instructed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician.

HOW TO USE
Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil/aroma diffuser or personal pocket inhaler.
Apply Topically: This essential oil is 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high quality carrier oils or Carrier Oils Complex. Refer to our dilution chart. We recommend performing a skin patch test when using a new essential oil topically.
